Where have you been?
Come and join the party!
Life certainly isn’t dull with Moseley Round Table and certainly worth getting the ‘pass out’ for.
Being located just a few miles from Birmingham, opportunities abound so there’s a lot to cram in the space of just 26 ‘official’ nights a year.
The highlights of the past year or so include an audacious attempt at punting in Oxfordshire, archery, indoor go-karting, scalectrix championships, sledging, roller-blading, a James Bond themed night - tuxedos a must - plus numerous curry nights.
In fact, it’s so busy, we’ve introduced ‘First Friday’ social nights where we get an extra chance to meet up once a month, have a few beers and maybe do something a little different.
But we don’t just confine ourselves to our ‘home’ patch. We regularly meet up with our neighbours from the likes of Solihull, Shirley, Redditch, Bromsgrove, Birmingham, Coleshill, Alcester and Tamworth for a spot of sports jousting half a dozen times a year.
Moseley are also considerable globe trotters and in the summer of 2009 a handful of us went to Pamplona to run with the bulls. More than a dozen went on their own version of the Beaujolais Run in November 08, while Poland and Hungary have also ‘hosted’ Moseley Tablers in recent years.
We also do our bit for the community and in 2009 we raised over £20,000 for charity via a number ways including a month-long moustache grow, a golf day, Santa Sleigh collections and our annual fireworks display, which is the biggest event in south Birmingham.
These are heady times for Moseley, as we were named the best table in Area 35 by our peers in April 2009 for only the second time in 31 years. We have a hardy membership drawn from across Birmingham, with the majority from the locale of Moseley and Kings Heath. But we have members from the likes of Harborne, Edgbaston, Kings Norton and Wythall.
And such has been our success that we continue to add to our numbers.
Fancy being next? Then contact us or come along to one of our events and find the best bunch of mates you didn’t know you had.
